Sie wollen ein neues europäisches System. Wero ist eine digitale Geldbörse, die von europäischen Banken entwickelt wurde. Sie nutzt direkte Banküberweisungen statt eines Kartennetzwerks. Dadurch können die Gebühren gesenkt und die Zahlungsdaten in Europa bleiben. Viele Leute in Deutschland, Frankreich und Belgien nutzen es schon. Die Politiker sagen, Europa brauche mehr Kontrolle über das Zahlungssystem. Außerdem wollen sie niedrigere Kosten für Geschäfte und Kunden. Sie glauben, dass das Zahlungssystem eine wichtige Infrastruktur ist und Europa es verwalten sollte.
