Im Jahr 2017 ging das Militär in Myanmar hart gegen die Rohingya-Muslime vor, die eine Minderheit im Land sind.

Letztes Jahr erklärten US-Beamte, dass in Myanmar ein Völkermord stattfand und Tausende Rohingyas starben. Im August 2017 flohen mehr als eine Million Menschen nach Bangladesch, weil es für sie zu gefährlich war, dort zu bleiben. Seitdem leben sie in Flüchtlingslagern. Bangladesch hat versucht, die Rohingyas zurück nach Myanmar zu schicken, aber das hat nicht funktioniert.

Am Sonntag brach im Lager Bukhali, in dem 1,2 Millionen Menschen lebten, ein großes Feuer aus. Viele von ihnen verloren ihr Zuhause und ihr gesamtes Hab und Gut. Nach offiziellen Angaben kam bei dem Brand niemand ums Leben und die Feuerwehr hatte das Feuer unter Kontrolle.
