Am Samstag sagte der russische Präsident Wladimir Putin, dass er Atomwaffen in Weißrussland, dem Nachbarland der Ukraine, stationieren würde.

Putin sagte, die Stationierung von Waffen in Weißrussland sei dasselbe wie die Stationierung von Atomwaffen durch die USA in Europa. Gleichzeitig sagte er, dass Russland die Anzahl der Atomwaffen nicht erhöhen werde.

Der Sprecher der NATO sagte, dass Putins Worte gefährlich und unverantwortlich seien und dass er seine Versprechen wiederholt gebrochen habe.

Die ukrainischen Beamten forderten eine Sitzung des UN-Sicherheitsrats und baten die internationale Gemeinschaft, Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um Russland vom Einsatz von Atomwaffen abzuhalten.
