Großbritannien, die USA und Australien haben einen Plan für den Bau einer Flotte von atomgetriebenen U-Booten vorgestellt.

Das Modell des U-Boots heißt SSN-AUKUS und soll in Großbritannien und Australien gebaut werden. Das Design wird britisch sein, aber das Schiff wird Technologien aus allen drei Ländern nutzen. Australien ist ein atomwaffenfreies Land, und dies werden seine ersten Atom-U-Boote sein. US-Präsident Joe Biden sagte, dass diese Tatsache das Versprechen Australiens, ein atomwaffenfreies Land zu bleiben, nicht gefährden wird.

Die drei Länder wollen mit dem sogenannten AUKUS-Deal die Macht Chinas in der indo-pazifischen Region verringern. China reagierte heftig gegen den Plan und seine Beamten sagten, dass er die Situation in der Welt noch gefährlicher machen würde.
