Einem Bericht des Wall Street Journal zufolge ist das COVID-19-Virus aus einem Labor ausgetreten, und US-Beamte unterstützen diese Idee.

Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation erklärte jedoch, es sei immer noch unklar, woher das Virus stamme. Ein Team aus WHO- und chinesischen Experten sagte, dass das Virus wahrscheinlich nicht aus einem Labor stammt, sondern eher von wilden Tieren.

Die WHO sagte, dass alle Optionen noch möglich seien und dass China mehr Informationen liefern müsse. Solange China nicht offen ist und mit den Experten kooperiert, kann niemand sagen, woher das Virus stammt.
