Miss Mexiko, Fatima Bosch, hat den Titel der Miss Universe in Thailand gewonnen.

Der Wettbewerb war voller Auseinandersetzungen und Kontroversen. Kurz vor der Finalshow verließen Miss Bosch und andere Kandidatinnen eine Veranstaltung, weil ein Beamter sie öffentlich beschimpfte und sie alle bedrohte. Später traten zwei Juroren zurück, und einer sagte, die Organisatoren würden den Wettbewerb manipulieren. Die Miss Universe-Gruppe sagte, dass dies nicht stimme. Trotz der Probleme wurde die Show fortgesetzt, und zum ersten Mal war auch Miss Palästina dabei. Bosch trat weiter an und gewann die Krone.

Der diesjährige Miss-Universe-Wettbewerb hatte viele Probleme, aber er kam schließlich zu einem Ende.
