Die Arktis ist sehr kalt, aber sie erwärmt sich schnell. Diese Veränderung ist schlecht für Tiere wie das Karibu. Aber auch für Pflanzen ist sie schlecht.

Einige Pflanzen werden jetzt größer. Diese Pflanzen werden Sträucher genannt. Sie nehmen auch mehr Platz ein. Karibus finden ihre Nahrung, wie Flechten, nicht mehr so leicht. Es ist auch schwer für sie, sich zu bewegen. Karibus müssen manchmal schnell rennen. Aber große Sträucher sind ein Problem. Die Menschen im Norden brauchen das Karibu. Sie jagen Karibus, um sich zu ernähren. Karibus sind auch wichtig für ihre Kultur.

Der Klimawandel wird nicht erst in der Zukunft stattfinden. Er ist jetzt schon da. Menschen und Tiere spüren ihn jeden Tag.
